Pro Business Tax and Accounting is based in Vaughan, Ontario - but being a tech-forward firm with cloud based systems we are setup to effectively service clients throughout Canada, except Quebec.

Senior Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant — Client-Facing

Full-time, on-site · Vaughan, ON · 37.5 hrs/week, Mon–Fri · $60,000–$70,000/year (based on experience)

This is not a data-entry role. You’ll take ownership of client files, communicate directly with small-business owners, and move full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, HST/GST, and tax work forward with limited hand-holding — working alongside senior staff and partner/CFO-level leadership.

What You’ll Do:

Full-cycle bookkeeping in Xero/QBO
Bank, credit-card, payroll, HST/GST, and WSIB reconciliations
Journal entries and month/quarter/year-end reporting
Payroll, T4s, and ROEs
Assist with and key T2 corporate and personal tax returns (TaxPrep)
Communicate directly with clients to keep files moving

What We’re Looking For:

Degree/diploma in accounting or business
3+ years of hands-on Canadian bookkeeping, accounting, and tax experience
Canadian tax-prep experience
Strong full-cycle knowledge
Comfort with Xero/QBO/TaxPrep/TaxDome/Excel (Xero certification, or willingness to complete it)
Solid knowledge of payroll, source deductions, HST/GST, WSIB, T4s, and ROEs
Confidence speaking directly with clients
